AIA (HK) Sustainability in Design Award 2007
This detailed masterplan design recommended the establishment of a natural preserve to create development value without spoiling the untouched qualities of this 14km stretch of beach, wetlands and prime farmland. Modelled to potentially be the first National Seashore in China, the limited sustainable eco-resort development would help in the preservation of the local environment and livelihoods, with improvements brought on by this investment subsidising conservation programs and boosting local artisan and agricultural economies. By combining synergistic economic, social and environmental considerations, the masterplan embraces a truly sustainable approach.
